Ok, so the title of the blog may be slightly deceiving, since I am less than 6 hours away from leaving Minnesota for the next year (or more!) to teach English in Japan!!! Call me crazy, but I am so pumped I can’t even contain my excitement. I will admit, however, that one of my least favorite things to do is PACK. No matter where I’m going and no matter how long I’ll be away, I leave it ALL until the day of. Let’s talk about stressful! I wanted to be able to spend the day with my family but no, I was stuck up in my room, left to stare at two empty suitcases for hours upon hours. Now, finally, it’s well after midnight and I can breathe a sigh of relief.
I am ready to leave the country, although I had a hard time deciding what to pack–for an entire year!!!!…with a little down-sizing assistance from my mother, I was able to get my life in two bags (oh and two carry-on’s) 🙂
I will be departing from the Lindbergh Terminal bright and early at 7am after a tearful goodbye from the family. Who knows; maybe the money tree in the backyard will come back to life and they’ll be fortunate enough to visit. How sweet would that be?!
I will miss everyone, so feel free to follow me and my adventures abroad as I travel to Asia and soak in a whole new culture- I can’t wait!
Peace,
Molly
Oh, and be patient as I try to figure out the in’s and out’s of this blog site- it’s still under construction, but I’m working on it!
Be safe! Have fun! And be sure to put on lots of pics!
I will be sure to take lots of pictures and keep you in touch with life! It’s great so far here in Tokyo! Orientation starts tomorrow
Good luck on your new adventure. We miss you already. Love you, Mom
There is never a dull moment in your life is there? Right down to the last minute packing to “unpacking” at the airport to meeting new people and visiting new places. WOW! Thanks for taking us along for the ride I look forward to keeping track of you! Big hug 🙂
[…] you remember waaaay back in the day when I first packed for my year abroad in Japan?! Do you also remember how I’m life’s WORST procrastinator? Oh, and that I […]
